ナンナ・テキスタイルを主宰する私じしんのこと。
私、ナンナはフィンランドで生まれました。フィンランドの公用語であるフィンランド語とスウェーデン語のどちらも使う家庭環境で育ち、以来、言語や文化が融合する環境で暮らしています。

カリフォルニア大学バークレー校入学を機に19歳で渡米。卒業後、中国四川省の成都で３年間の留学を経験しました。現地でマイノリティーの研究を続けたいと考えていましたが、社会情勢が緊迫していた時期でもあり果たすことなくフィンランドに帰国。いつかテキスタイルを介して四川省周辺の村や集落で研究ができたらと今も願っています。
1994年に結婚、ドイツのシュトゥットガルトに移住し今に至りますが、移住前には仕事の関係で、ソウルや東京に滞在する機会に恵まれました。３人の子どもたちもまた、ドイツとフィンランドの二つの文化が融合する家庭で生まれ育ち、またシュトゥットガルトという土地柄から、フランスやスイスには簡単に、イタリアやオーストリアへもそれほど大変な思いをせずに行き来できる環境にあります。
生まれた時から複数の言語や文化に囲まれ、とても自然な流れで、それが私の仕事にも強く影響しています。
2016年2月、シュトゥットガルト州立美術デザインアカデミー（Staatlliche Akademie der Bildenden Kunste Stuttgart）でテキスタイルデザインのMAを取得。学生時代から現在もなお、様々な地域で古くから伝わるテキスタイルの技法や文化を学びながら、私じしんの創造や新しい技術との融合、または古くから伝わるテキスタイルの保全や研究を続けています。
Dialogue
そのフィールドは国内外を問わず、好奇心の赴くところへと足を運んでいます。これまでもイタリアのフィレンツェでの研究、オーストリアのアルプスにある小さな村での研究、さらに日本では２カ月にわたって絣（富田潤先生に師事）、草木染め（志村ふくみ先生のワークショップに参加）、葛布（丸井先生のワークショップに参加）、芭蕉布（芭蕉センターでのインターンシップ）、絞り（有松での職人探訪、名古屋の工房にて安藤先生に学ぶ）に触れる機会を得ました。
これらの経験をもとに、または次々と新しい経験を得ながら、作品づくりやワークショップを行っています。作品は美術館やギャラリーで展示、ワークショップは主にナンナ・テキスタイルのスタジオで行っています。

Textile Projekte
2017
interim – Culture Incentives on Schwabian Alb, a region near Stuttgart (a project funded by the Federal Cultural Foundation). My modern-day textile-interpretations are part of a group exhibition at Museum Villa Rot in Burgrieden, Germany, 09 July – 15 Oct 2017. So-called „memories of cloth“ base on Alb-residents‘ private textile pieces handed to me, some of which are very old. Research on historical flax cultivation or references to the former tradition of sheep farming in the region are scenarios I study. Today only remnants of the earlier flourishing textile industry can be found on Schwabian Alb.
